Michael’s journey in bass tournament fishing began in 2015 and has evolved through a series of hands-on roles,
reflecting both his lifelong passion and professional growth. Born in Springdale, Arkansas, Michael spent his earliest years exploring Beaver Lake
learning to swim, fish, and ski on its waters. One of his fondest childhood memories is catching his first largemouth bass at sunrise at Hickory Creek, an experience that sparked his enduring love for the sport and the lake itself.
When Michael’s family relocated to Tennessee, he embraced Memphis as his hometown, but the ties to Northwest Arkansas and Beaver Lake have remained deeply rooted in his heart.
Now residing in Owasso, Oklahoma, just outside Tulsa, Michael blends these regional influences into his approach to tournament fishing and management.
Michael’s formal path into tournament management began when he offered to create an online tournament schedule for Joe Papczynski. The next year, Michael was invited to join the
Everett Team Trail staff, marking the start of his formal involvement in tournament management. Over the next three years, he dedicated himself to learning the intricacies of
tournament operations, developing both his management skills and innovative tournament software.
Expanding his impact, Michael has directed major big bass tournaments from Oklahoma to California and Florida on behalf of Soldier’s Wish. Under Michael's direction, the Soldier’s Wish tournaments
raised funds for veterans’ causes and consistently drew valuable attention to veteran’s cause. His dedication to excellence led him to join the staff of Oklahoma’s largest team series, which
regularly attracts more than 250 boats per event.
Since 2015, Michael has directed, co-directed, or supported over 500 bass tournaments, continually learning from industry leaders such as Stan Hunicutt, Shannon Mosely, TJ Martin, Charles Moore and
Brian Stangel in New Mexico. Their mentorship has helped him master the organization, promotion, and execution of events ranging from 20 to 400 boats.
As the founder and co-owner of w5-Live, LLC, Michael created and now manages Live-Leaderboard—a comprehensive online tournament management & online payment system. With more than 4,000 anglers and 45,000
fish weighed, Live-Leaderboard is trusted by prominent series including The Grand Lake Costa Derby, Pagnozzi Parker Charity Big Bass Tournament, Nichols Team Series, Bass Nation of Oklahoma and New Mexico,
and the Alabama Bass Classic in Eufaula.
Drawing from over 11 years of experience, Michael’s unwavering work ethic and heartfelt commitment ensure every tournament he joins is a success. His connection to Beaver Lake and dedication to
advancing the sport of bass fishing continue to inspire both new and seasoned anglers alike.
